Islamabad: Naib Ameer and In-charge political wing of Jamat-ud-Dawa, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki has said that Lahore High Court had cleared his party and from now on, it should not be mentioned defunct.
Addressing a news conference at the National Press Club here on Friday, he told the media that neither Jamat-ud-Dawa nor its any subsidiary organization is now banned as Lahore High Court has given clean chit to it. “Some pro American and people belonging to Indian lobby call Jamat-ud-Dawa a ban organization to defame us”, he added
He said that the allegation of getting foreign aid on Jamat-ud-Dawa is baseless. It never involved in the anti Pakistan activities. He said that it is a merely a pro-Pakistani organization.
He said that Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation is a registered NGO, which is working for the welfare of human being. Jamat does not have any foreign funding but the Pakistani philanthropists give financial assistance for carrying out welfare work.
Responding a question Makki apprised the reporters that Jamat-ud-Dawa so far managed to rescue about 26,000 flood-hit people by boats to safer places. It has not only sent some 100 trucks loaded with medicines, tents, dry food, drinking water and daily usage items, which costs almost Rs 10 million to the calamity hit area of Sindh but also provide cooked food to about 80,000 people daily. He said that the JuD is also distributing relief goods to affected Hindu community in Sindh
On the occasion JuD also dispatched 10 trucks containing floor, rice, pulses and dry ration for the flood affected to Sindh province from the National Press Club.
