Islamabad: Amir Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has termed the law and order situation in the country quite serious and called upon the government to check foreign intervention in the country for restoration of peace and calm in the country.
“We should make decisions according to the national interests and not on the biddings of the foreign powers,” said the Maulana while talking to party leaders Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate, Maulana Qari Fayyaz-ur-Rehman Alwi, Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan and Maulana Mir Mohammad Meerak.
Maulana Rehman said because of the incompetence of the government foreign intervention in the country was on the rise. Condemning the terrorists’ attack in Chitral, he said our borders are on longer safe and the foreign policy should devise an independent sovereign policy.
He said the entire nation was concerned about law and order situation in Karachi and held that destabilising Karachi was tantamount to destabilising the country’s economy. “The government should take steps to save Karachi from insurgents so that economic hub of the country could grow without any hassle,” he said.
He said the country was paying heavy price for the previous government’s decision to become ally of the US in the so-called war on terror. “Today the entire nation is paying its price. Rehman said the US wanted to dismantle Pakistan and the recent incidents have proven that the US valued its own interests and did not bother that Pakistan was paying prices for becoming its ally.
