Islamabad: Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik denied the reports that two people were arrested in connection with the murder of Dr Imran Farooq, an MQM leader who was murdered last year in London, from Karachi airport.
In a statement the minister denied that any person named Waseem was arrested, while adding that the reports regarding the arrest of Imran Farooq murderers were part of a campaign to create differences among Peoples Party and MQM.
Malik clarified that Pakistan had not provided any report to British government.
The statement of Rehman Malik came at a time when the gulf was increasing between MQM and PPP after accusations were charged by both parties each other over target killings, and extortions in Karachi.
Last week, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani came at Karachi to appease MQM but he had to return Islamabad fruitless.
