Karachi: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association Karachi (PIMA) has showed concern over non issuance of appointment letters to 60 resident male medical officers (BPS-17) for many months who passed commission examination.
A press release issued on Friday stated that Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) had announced result of 60 resident male medical officers (BPS-17) on 7th April 2011.
According to the rules, their appointment should be made within one month by the concerned ministry, however, Sindh Health Ministry received the result summary from commission in the start of May and since then they have not issued the appointment letters.
Firstly it was delayed as the appointment be made in the new budget after 30th June but it is still pending.
The release emphasis that there is no provincial health minister since 27th June which is further delaying the issuing in letters.
Now nearly five months are about to complete and all doctors who have qualified the commission exam are uncertain about their future and appointment. Sixty doctors are to be appointed to all urban and rural areas of Sindh province.
PIMA demanded to issue appointment letters to these doctors so that the future of commission qualified doctors can be safe and they can deliver their professional service to common man.
