Karachi: An additional PKR one billion has been approved for the upcoming Pakistan Textile City by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The additional fund has been granted to meet the project’s urgent financial requirement to complete some remaining work, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Director of Pakistan Textile City and the Federal Advisor on Textiles, said.
He said that it was essential to complete all the basic infrastructural work, as the plots are offered for sale to interested entrepreneurs.
He thanked the Government for the timely help and called it an evidence of the Government’s support and backing to the project.
The Pakistan Textile City located in the Eastern Industrial Zone of Port Qasim was recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The process of allotment of industrial plots has begun at the project which is expected to be equipped with most modern facilities for the country’s value-added textile industries.
