Karachi: Ulema Amn Council (UAC) has called for resignation of federal and provincial interior ministers for their failure to maintain law and order situation in Karachi, where a renewed wave of violence left over 100 people killed in a week.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, UAC leaders said the government and law enforcement agencies have failed to restore peace and contain terrorism in the city.
The UAC also welcomed Supreme Court of Pakistan’s decision to take suo motto notice of incessant killing in Karachi.
The religious leaders also appealed to people to celebrate Eid and Jumat ul Wida as day of prayers.
