Islamabad: Pakistan is planning to launch a high-resolution Remote Sensing Satellite System (RSSS) in 2014 to meet national and international user satellite imagery requirements.
According to reports the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) plans to launch an optical satellite by the end of the year, following up with a series of optical and synthetic aperture radar satellites.
Pakistan entered the space age by launching Badr-1 on experimental bases. Badr-II was sent in 2001 and Paksat-I in January 2003. The Pakistan Space Programme 2040 calls for the launch of numerous satellites.
