Lahore: Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Javed Iqbal has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, proposing him to return the services of those police officers to the federation, who attended an Iftar dinner hosted by American Consulate in Lahore, without prior permission.
The IG said that the officers’ response to the show cause notices issued to them for violation of discipline were unsatisfactory and some of them even could not solicit response to the notices.
“The officers even didn’t know whether they should participate in a ceremony in a diplomatic mission or not,” the letter noted.
According to sources the IG has requested CM Punjab to communicate to the establishment division for taking back the services of the errant officers.
