Karachi: Death toll from the ongoing violent incidents sparked on Friday night in Karachi has reached to 10 till the filing of this report on Saturday afternoon .
The incidents of torching vehicles and firing were erupted just a few hours before the advent of Saturday, the day announced to be observed as strike by Sindhi nationalist parties backed by the Awami National Party against the restoration of SLGO 2001 in Sindh province.
Gulistan-e-Johar, Safora Goth, Sachal, Banaras, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Keamari, Al-Asif Square, Tower, Baldia, Rizvia, Do-Minute Chowrangi, NIPA Chowrangi, Ghakkar Pathak, Malir. M.A Jinnah road and Shah Faisal Colony were the most affected areas where a man was burnt alive and 15 others injured besides over a dozen vehicles were set ablaze by unknown miscreants.
In Nazimabad area three people were killed and several others injured in hand-grenade and firing attacks while two bodies packed in a gunny bag were found from a car in Pak Colony. Several bodies carrying torture marks were also found in SITE, Bin Qasim and Sohrab Goth areas.
Despite a statement came from the office of Inspector General Police, Sindh , claiming to arrest over 50 people involved in various criminalities in the city the wave of firing and and burning vehicles was continued.
