Karachi: “The people of Pakistan and India are suffering from home grown terrorism. Extremism in all its forms needs to end,” wrote Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik on his twitter account on August 5.
After his month-long absence from the social media site, Malik wrote: “I condemn the recent acts of terrorism by the local home-grown terrorists in Bombay, on peaceful and innocent people. We show our firm resolve to cooperate with India and the international community to work together to end this menace.”
Federal interior minister tweeted about Pakistan’s and India’s role in regional peace: “Pakistan and India both can play a great and decisive role together for peace and stability of this region”.
Pakistani minister showed his concern on the situation of Pakistan and Karachi: “I would like open discussion with my fellow friends to work out honest suggestions for terrorism-free region. Terrorism can only be eliminated when all the countries work together with a collective responsibility to fight terrorism.”
More than 1200 people were killed in Karachi during last 7 months.
Malik offered a solution saying: “We all have to make efforts to maintain peace in Karachi. We need national unity today and not blame game for political gains.”
About the government of southern Sindh province that offered cash prize for anyone who will provide any lead about the targeted killers to bring them to book, Malik made an appeal to the Karachi’s youths: “My special thanks to youth of Karachi, who are helping us in identifying the target killers in Karachi.”
He appreciated his Indian counterpart P K Chidambaram: “I appreciate the statement of Mr. Chidambaram, which appeared in media today. I wish Mr. Chidambaram the best of luck in dealing with terrorists who are enemies of humanity. I have great trust in his abilities & wisdom.”
