Islamabad: United States Ambassador to Islamabad has demanded Washington that stop CIA-operated drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal region.
Cameron Munster on Tuesday said that the time of the US drone strikes in Pakistan was not appropriate, adding the drone strikes would further increase tension between both the countries.
He said the Pakistan would not support the US in Afghan police if drone strikes were not stopped with immediate effect.
Reports circulating in media that there is a huge rift between US State Department and Central Investigation Agency (CIA) over the US drone strikes inside Pakistan.
The media reports also informed that the US top ambassador to Pakistan written an application to CIA to stop drone attacks in Pakistan, but was rejected by CIA Chief Leon Panetta.
Exchange of hot words were also reported between Munter and the ex-CIA station chief over the issue.
It is also pertinent to mention here that two CIA station chiefs have left Pakistan within seven months.
