Lahore: Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said the dialogue process with India should continue uninterrupted and loses credibility when it is interrupted adding that both sides gave positive response to normalize ties.
Addressing a press conference after her return from India, the Foreign Minister told the media persons that all issues including the core issue of Kashmir were discussed with the Indian leadership.
“Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh assured India wanted to resolve all issues including Kashmir and was willing to walk the extra mile” Khar said, added that, breakthrough in the dialogue is in Pakistan’s interest.
The foreign minister said that she and her entourage had a detailed discussion on all outstanding issues with Indian leadership. She said talks were in Pakistan’s interest. She said she also had meetings with Kashmiri leadership, and these meetings were disliked by many in New Delhi.
She, however, stressed that no country or region could progress without peace. She said that the trail of Mumbai bombing accused should be expedited and discussions have been going on for long time now. Dialogues biggest achievement was reduction in trust deficit, she added.
The 34-year-old, Khar, and Pakistan’s first female and youngest top diplomat visited India to bridge the gap between the two neighboring countries.
