Islamabad: Finance Ministry of Pakistan has released Rs 3.5 billion to the Pakistan Railways.
General Manager, Pakistan Railways, Saeed Akhter said that the finance division released Rs 3.5 billion in terms of fuel, pension and salaries. The above said amount would be transferred to PR account within two or three days, he added.
He said that no summery was sent to get the amount but it was a routine matter. He stated that the PR had not shortage of fuel.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Railways was passing through its history’s worst period as Pakistan Railways’ Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has already warned that Pakistan Railways would close if government not takes it serious.
Majority of the trains were delayed by 10 to 15 hours throughout the country because of fuel shortage and engines failures.
