Karachi: As many as 35 activists of Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM) Afaq Ahmed group joined the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) here on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference the workers said that they were joining the Muttahida on the voice of their conscience and they thought that the leader (Afaq) who had met with the man (Zulfiqar Mirza)who used to abuse Muhajirs could not serve the nation.
It is to mention here that a statement of Sindh Senior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza about his meeting with the jailed MQM chief Afaq Ahmed created ire in the ranks of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement . There were media reports that Afaq Ahemed was likely to be released from jail last week but the recent patch up between the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the MQM-Altaf has mired the development .
