Kabul: General David Petraeus has left his charge as commander of US and Nato forces in Afghanistan.
Pentagon appointed former CIA director Leon Panetta as Secretary of Defence while Patraeus was appointed as new CIA honcho.
Gen David handed over responsibility for the military campaign to his successor, Lt Gen John Allen in a ceremony ISAF Change of Command ceremony. He thanked Adm Mike Mullen, Gen Langheld& Mattis for leadership and support of troops.
