Islamabad: Pakistan’s senior Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has said that government was giving special Ramazan package costing Rs two billion to the people through utility stores whereas subsidy would be offered on 14 items.
Addressing the conference of Regional Managers of Utility Store Corporation at Lahore on Sunday in which managers of USC participated from entire country including AJK and Gilgit Baltistan, Ilahi said that timing of Utility Stores would also be enhanced to avoid long queues of people in the holy month of Ramazan.
Ilahi said that the government does not believe in political victimization. He said that those stores would be rewarded on achieving the target of Ramazan Package, but on failure they would also be punished as he respects the honest workers. He asked MNAs and MPAs to visit Utility Stores so as the public complaints should be readdressed properly. The corporation should strive hard to win the confidence of the people.
“I have decided to introduce monitoring system in Utility Stores to offer maximum relief to the people. All 5,700 outlets of USC would be provided sufficient quantity of items, which should be delivered to the people. All Zonal Managers should check the stocks under their jurisdiction before Ramazan. If they think, that there is something short, they should submit their demand to head office at once”, he added.
