Lahore: Chief Justice Lahore High Court has disclosed that 90 percent of the court staff was corrupt.
While addressing a meeting, called to review progress on the National Judicial Policy, Chief Justice LHC, Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, said that they had been unable to come to the expectations from them. Session judges from across the province attended the meeting.
The Chief Justice said that corruption could not be big or small — the one who takes a hundred and the one who takes million, both would be considered corrupt.
He urged the judges to be vigilant and ensure that the court staff discharge their duties honestly so that justice could be administered to the people without any hurdle.
Justice Ijaz Chaudhary lamented that Punjab’s progress on the NJP was not better than the other provinces’. He made it clear that the inspection teams’ head would be responsible for the delay in disposing off of cases in districts.
