Karachi: At least 43 people have been gunned down by unknown assailants within 24 hours in Karachi, bringing the death toll in the recent spate of targeted killings to 71 as violence between the two rival groups entered in the third day.
A man was killed by unidentified armed men in Kharadar area in the early hours of Friday.
In another incident, unknown miscreants set ablaze a market in Aligarh Colony of Orangi Town.

Two people were shot dead near a graveyard in Baldia Town no 7 and three others wounded in the same incident.
Three people were killed in Orangi Town. A man was killed near Kati Pahari.

Three people were gunned down near Islam Chowk Orangi Town. However, at least 10 people were killed and 15 others injured when unidentified gunmen riding bikes opened indiscriminate fire at two passengers buses near Bnaras Bridge. The miscreants managed to flee after swift operation.
In another incident, unknown armed men set a garment factory on fire near Qasba Mor and fled.

According to sources most of the incidents took place in restive Orangi Town areas, including Qasba colony, Katti Pahari, Inter board office, Banaras and Baldia town. Two people were killed and several others injured when armed men opened fire on a passenger bus near Metro Cinema in Banaras area.
The sources said that affected areas were reverberating with extensive firing, leaving the people indoors and forcing large number of people to evacuate the area.
They said that two people, including child received bullet injuries in Qasba Colony and the child succumbed to injures in Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Complex (JPMC). Hospital sources said the child had received a bullet in her head which proved fatal.
Moreover, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon told media that several people were killed and more than 100 people were injured in the recent wave of violence.
