Lahore: Banking court Judge Abdul Rasheed has refused to hear the case against Pakistan Muslim League-Q(PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi for his alleged involvement in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam.
Moonis was produced before the court amid tight security where the judge after heated arguments with lawyers refused to conduct hearing into the case and referred it to Lahore High Court ChiefJustice Ejaz Ahemd Chaudhry.
Talking to media, Moonis’ counsel severely criticized the judge decision of referring the case to LHC chief justice . He said that the judge started recording statements of other accused in the scam instead hearing an acquittal application. He said that there was no solid evidence against Moonis ELahi.
Later the PML-Q leader was shifted to sub-jail.
