Islamabad: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prof. Muhamamd Ibrahim Khan, has said that he is ready to produce evidences if summoned to any forum of the alleged en mass killing of 38 tribesmen by security forces in Mohmand Agency on June 10, 2011.
It is to be mentioned here that Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan had written a letter to Chairman Senate Farooq H. Naek, alleging that on June 10, 2011 security forces had brutally killed 38 tribesmen in Tehsil Lakre Sheikh Baba in Mohmand Agency and buried them in a single grave. He further alleged that four days before the alleged incident, 10 people had been killed by security forces in the same area. He urged chairman Senate to use his power and authority to bring the perpetrators of the alleged mass killing to justice.
During an interview, Prof. Ibrahim claimed that they had solid evidences of the mass killing of unarmed tribesmen and had video of the incident. He further said that he was ready to appear before any forum and would give evidence of the alleged brutality of the forces.
When asked whether he though it appropriate to raise the issue when the armed forces of the country were already under immense foreign and internal pressure and foreign power could use the incident to malign the forces, Prof. Ibrahim Khan said that the armed force must had mulled over such a consequences before committing grave human rights violations. “ We cannot remain silent on such a grave and barbaric incident just for the reasons that it is not an appropriate time to speak against such excesses. Whether the perpetrators of mass killing of innocents should be pardoned just because they are already under pressure?’ It is very simple that if the security forces and law enforcement agencies would operate under the laws of the land, we would stand by them and defend them everywhere, but if they commit mass killing and mass burial of innocent people then how could we remain silent. “If our own institution attack us then how we can hide their crimes,” he questioned.
