Kabul: One more French soldier was killed in the US-led war in Afghanistan as foreign forces continue to experience some of their deadliest days in the country.
The soldier was killed in a militant attack in the northeastern province of Kapisa, French officials said.
This is the 63rd French soldier killed in Afghanistan since the 2001 US-led invasion of the country.
France has stationed 4,000 troops in Afghanistan.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has announced that “several hundred” troops will be pulled out of Afghanistan by the end of this year.
According to official figures, at least 2,547 US-led soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion began in 2001.
Some 150,000 US-led foreign troops have been in Afghanistan since 2001 to maintain law and order in the region, but security situation is still miserable and deteriorated in the war-ravaged
