Tehran: Presidnt Asif Ali Zardari has said that Pakistan is fighting against terrorism on the behalf of whole the world and suffered great losses in the war.
Addressing a two-day Anti-Terrorism Conference in Tehran on Saturday where representatives from several countries are participating , Zardari expressed resolveĀ not to let terrorists succeed in their designs.” we will not let them succeed” he said, adding that the militants have no religion.
The president said that the terrorism is a mind set and the name of a mental disease. He added that his country suffered huge life and economic losses.Ā More than 30,000 people, including 5000 military personnel sacrificed their lives and terrorism inflicted losses up toĀ more than 67 billion dollars.
Zardari said that there was no option but to fight against the terrorists.” there is no shortcut in war against terrorists, we will determineĀ future of Pakistan and whole the world by fighting terrorists” he added.
The president was of the view that the terrorism threat could not only be eliminated only byĀ military actionĀ but route causes of the militancy will have to be addressed.
