Lahore: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered the government to appoint Chairman National Accountability Bureau (Nab) and Prosecutor General Nab within a month.
The Supreme Court Lahore Registry in its verdict ruled that if the appointments were not made within the stipulated time the institution will be considered practically abolished as per Nab ordinance. The verdict noted that if the SC’s orders were not implemented the powers of acting Nab Chairman would be abolished.
The SC bench headed by Justice Javed Iqbal had reserved the verdict last month into the appointment of Nab chairman.
