Peshawar: Information Minister Khyber Pahhtoonkhawa province of Pakistan Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that bilateral US-Taliban talks would not succeed if Pakistan and Afghanistan were kept away.
While addressing a seminar at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday the information minister asserted that US would have to gain confidence of Pakistan and Afghanistan in order to eradicate terrorism in the region.
He further said that self-centered meetings with the Taliban would not be progressive. US should take action against terrorists without any discrimination, he suggested.
Terming the present situation as a trial for the nation, he suggested that all the political parties should defend the country by keeping national interest supreme.
Government is ready to have a dialogue with extremists who denounce violence, he concluded.
