Beijing: At least eight people were killed and six others sustained injuries when a truck carrying flammable chemicals exploded in a car park in China’s southwest.
The fire from the blast also engulfed more than 20 cars in the car park in the town of Litang, in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Xinhua news agency quoted local authorities as saying.
The incident happened when workers were unloading the truck of chemicals including potassium chlorate and carbon powder. The workers’ carelessness may have triggered the blast, the report said.
Two of the six injured were stated badly hurt.
