New York: Ratio of the disabled people is rising in the world and have reached 1 billion, said a WHO report.
According to a report about 15 percent of the world’s population is disabled. According to World Health Organization’s report, disabled people in developed countries are three times more likely to be denied healthcare than other people. Children with disabilities are less likely to start or stay in school than other children, while employment rates are at 44 per cent, compared with 75 percent for people without disabilities in developed countries, the report found.
Despite a vibrant disability rights movement, disabled people still experience “significant difficulties” concerning healthcare and employment.
