Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has suspended member of selection committee Muhammad Ilyas on charges of violating code of conduct on Wednesday.
The PCB in a statement issued here said an inquiry committee was formed to look into the matter. Ilyas while talking to media admitted to violate the boards code of conduct and said he was ready to face the inquiry committee.
Earlier the PCB had issued show cause notice to Ilyas. It is to mention here that there has been a war of words between former captain Shahid Afridi and Muhammad Ilyas since the limited-overs captain arrived Pakistan after West Indies tour.
Afridi was removed as the team’s captain after he issued statement against team officials and later dramatically announced his retirement from the international cricket and accused Muhammad Ilyas of hatching conspiracies against him. Afrrid had said that Ilyas did not like him as he considered him an obstacle in inducting his son of law Imran Farhat, in the team. On the other hand Ilyas also levelled serious allegations against the flamboyant Afridi.
