Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted rains in Karachi and other costal areas of Sindh along Arabian Sea on Wednesday, with a cyclone emerging in the sea some 600 km off the Karachi cost.
We are keeping a vigil eye on the low pressure system in the sea in Indian waters, said a Met officer spokesman while talking to a private television on Tuesday.
He said that the potential cyclone might produce downpour in Karachi and other costal areas of the country. Widespread torrential rains battered parts of Balochistan and Sindh when a cyclone ‘Phet’ hit the country’s costal areas, causing floods in Balochistan, imposing heavy losses of infrastructure last year.
