Karachi: Chief Security Officer of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Bilal Sheikh, remained unhurt in an attempt to murder on late Saturday night, police sources said.
According to police, the incident took place near Bilal Mosque in Khamosh Colony within the limits of Gul Bahar Police Station when unidentified armed miscreants threw hand grenade and then opened indiscriminate fire on the vehicle of Bilal Sheikh while he was returning home after duty.
As a result, three security guards of Bilal Sheikh received injuries. Two injured were identified as Sarfraz and Mahmood, while identity of the third one is yet to be known. The injured were Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
When Sheikh’s security guards opened return fire then the miscreants fled without their vehicle.
While talking to media, Bilal Sheikh said that there were at least 10 to 12 assailants who ambushed the vehicle. He was receiving threats for a long time, Bilal added.
Police and rangers cordoned off the area and started search operation.
