Lahore: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ijaz Butt has said that if he wanted to, Shahid Afridi could play One day matches against Ireland.
Chairman PCB said Shahid Khan Afridi had not been given any guarantee that he would continue as the captain of the Pakistan’s one day team.
Captain Pakistan team Afridi gave a statement about the differences in the team management after returning Pakistan from a successful ODI series against West Indies. Referring to Afridi, chairman PCB said that no discussion had taken place on the decision on the captain’s future.
Ijaz Butt said that news concerning retaining or removing Shahid Afridi as the captain of the Pakistani squad is baseless. He said that if Afridi wanted to, he could play ODI matches against Ireland.
Shahid Afridi is now in America and is expected to meet with the PCB chairman after reaching Pakistan.
