Washington: United States Senator Jim Inhofe has become the first member of Congress after viewing the death photos of Osama Bin Laden, a press release said on Wednesday.
Inhofe prior to viewing the photos said, “It is an important responsibility as a member of the Senator Armed Services Committee to view these photos and be able to validate his death to the people of the nation.”
“By viewing these photos, I can help dismiss conspiracy theorists who doubt that Bin Laden is in fact dead. That is why I recommended that they make them available to members of the committee, and I appreciate Director Panetta following up on my suggestion.”
Inhofe suggested CIA Director Leon Panetta last week that the agency make the photos available to members of the SASC.
President Obama decided against releasing the photos to the public last week amid concerns that the gruesome image could prove troublemaking.
