Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Office has said that exchange of information regarding Al Qaeda Chief Osama Bin Laden had been made but Pakistan was kept unaware about the US led operation.
Pakistan Foreign Office statement was issued after 36 hours of Bin Laden.’s death. Al Qaeda Chief was killed by the US special force in Abottabad district of Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa Province of Pakistan on late Sunday night. Pakistan was kept unaware regarding the operation but it was a milestone in war against terrorism, the foreign office statement said.
Another high value target was also arrested from the same compound in past. CIA approached Bin Laden owing to the information given by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, said the release.
Pakistan accepted that it was kept totally unaware about the US operation.
According to the statement, Bin Laden family is safe and medical treatment is being given to injured. It further stated that nor Pakistan’s military leadership was informed neither US got permission of the operation. The foreign office said that Abottabad was in close surveillance since 20003.
The foreign office expressed severe concerns over the particular strategy of the US special forces operation against Bin Laden and said one sided US strategy could affect the cooperation between Pakistan and the US. Pakistan further warned that policies of Washington could affect global peace.
