Islamabad: Central Executive Committee (CEC) of Pakistan People’s Party has given authority to President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also Co-Chairman of PPP, and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to continue the policy of political reconciliation.
The meeting was held in Islamabad in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday late night.
On the occasion, President Zardari said that PPP would continue the policy of reconciliation for the interest of Pakistan. He said democratic institutions of the country would be strengthened.
The meeting decided that party ticket would be given after meeting with provincial and district presidents. Party tickets would be given on merit and performance, the meeting decided.
Zardari asked party members to kick off election campaign through out the country because next parliamentary election in the country would be held in 2013 according to the constitution. He also asked to finish the problem of party supporters.
The meeting also discussed the issues of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and Presidential Ordinance.
