Islamabad: The ruling Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) have reportedly hammered out a power sharing formula to form what sources say, a national government in the centre.
Sources said that the so-called national government would be formed before budget and as per the formula the PML-Q has been offered four federal ministers and eight ministers of state. The sources said that senior minister would also be from the PML-Q. the party has also been offered ambassadorship in the United Nations.
They said that talks were underway to woo the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Jamiat Ulema-e- Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to join the new ‘national government.’
The sources said that names of Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Mushahid Hussain Syed and Ameer Muqam, Ghous Bux Mehar have been proposed for ministries from the PML-Q.
Political observers are of the view that the removal of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director Zafar Qureshi, who was investigating the NICL corruption scandal wherein Moonis Elahi is a co-accused, was the part of the agreement between the PPP and the PML-Q.
Senior lawyer and the PML-Q leader SM Zafar while taking to a private television said that he had no information as PPP and his party had evolved a consensus to form a new government.
