Islamabad: Heads of all the gas companies would be changed and the vacancies would be filled on merit, said Dr Asim Hussain, adviser to prime minister on petroleum and natural resources.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday Dr Asim said that nepotism, in appointing the officers would not be tolerated at any cost, adding that time has come to change the process of distribution of oil and gas in the country.
He said that board of directors of the gas companies would be changed and no minister and secretary would be inducted in the companies’ boards..
On a question Asim said that some of the gas companies had retried while some had resigned.
He maintained that no gas connection for the industries would be allowed. Asim noted that the country had large reservoirs of coal while the federal government would assist the governments of Sindh and Balochistan to utilize them.
Asim said that there was need to train youth in the petroleum and gas sector as the country has great men power.
