London: Pakistani cricketer Zulqarnain Haider has said that he would return to Pakistan on April 25.
Speaking to a private television, he said that he decided to return home after Interior Minister Rehman Malik during his recent visit to London assured him that ample security would be provided to him and his family. He added that he contacted PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt and took him into confidence regarding his arrival.
He thanked Malik and Wajid Shamsul Hasan, Pakistani ambassador to UK, for helping him in during crises.
He added that he would meet only Ejaz Butt after his arrival. Zulqarnain Haider left Pakistani team during one-day series against South Africa in Dubai November last year. He was found at the London Airport claiming that he was receiving life threats form bookies therefore he left Dubai.He also filed an application, seeking political asylum with the British Home Department which he withdrew on Friday.
Haider had played a key role in his last one-day match against South Arica and secured a victory for his team.
