Karachi: Former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza has alleged, without naming any party, that a coalition partner of the Sindh government was behind the targeted killings in Karachi.
Speaking to journalists here on Friday Mirza in his diatribe leveled serious allegations against one of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) allies, saying that the coalition partner was involved in the killing of Geo news reporter Wali Khan Babar. He added that he has fulfilled his promise to arrest assassins of Wali Babar.
He claimed that Ajmal alias Pahari, accused of 100 target killings, and other target killers were the activists of the ally.
Mirza maintained that MQM chief Altaf Hussain and Farooq Sattar had asked President Asif Ali Zardari for his removal from the home ministry.
He said that he said that MQM was working on the one-ponit agenda to remove him from the ministry.
He said that purpose of the targeted killings and extortion was to remove him which has been accomplished. “i will unite the citizens of Karachi against the target killing for the sack of their children’ he added.
Mirza claimed that their would be no extortion and targeted killings in the metropolis again.
He said that every body knew who was involved in extortion activities.
