Karachi: A Sub-Inspector was shot dead in Karachi, the financial hub of Pakistan, on Thursday late night, police official said.
Superintendent of Police Keamari Town confirmed the death of the SI and said unidentified armed men opened fire on Karim Chohan in Musharraf Colony, Maripur and managed to escape. As a result, he sustained severe bullet injuries and died on the spot. The deceased was deployed at Hocks Bay Police check-post.
The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for postmortem.
Earlier, brother of SHO Super Marker Police Station Shafiq Tanoli, Naveed Khan was killed in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town. Shafiq Tanoli is investigation officer of the murder case of Wali Khan Babar, a news reporter of a private Pakistani TV channel who was killed on January 13.
