New Dehli: India has allowed its cricket team to play in Pakistan, says Indian foreign secretary.
The foreign secretary Nirupama Rao said India was looking to promote cricketing ties between both the countries and to become an instrument of diplomacy.
She said Indian team would visit Pakistan. She stated that Indian government allowed the team to play in Pakistan but Pakistan would assure provision of proper security to the team.
She said that cricket diplomacy could improve diplomatic relations between the two nations. She stated that India had never forbidden its teams from going to Pakistan, but security was always an issue.
