Washington: The United States military spokesman has said that only military installations of Gaddafi forces are being targeted in the allied forces attack.
Pantgon Vice Admiral William Gortney while addressing a press conference in Washinton regarding allied forces attack said that allied forces are not going to arrest Muammar Gaddafi. He said that Spain and Belgium forces are also involved in the operation.
He said Arab countries would also take part in operation against Gaddafi forces along with allied forces. He said no civilian causality has been reported in the attack of allied forces.
Gortney said that if is premature to say that how long the operation would continue. Despite a no-fly zone, Gaddafi forces can fly helicopter in Libya.
On the other hand, Military officials of Gaddafi have announced ceasefire.
But, Gortney said announcement of ceasefire from Gaddafi forces could not be trusted.
Earlier on Sunday, United States House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner called on President Barack Obama to explain the US mission in Libya and how his administration intends to achieve its goals.
“The president is the commander-in-chief. But the administration has a responsibility to define for the American people, the Congress and our troops, what the mission in Libya is,” Boehner, a Republican, said in a statement.
“Before any further military commitments are made, the administration must do a better job of communicating to the American people and to Congress about our mission in Libya and how it will be achieved,” he said.
