New York: Security Council of the United Nations has approved a resolution to make Libya no-fly zone and also allowed air strikes on Libya.
The decision has been taken in order to safeguard the Libyan people from forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi. Ten out of total fifteen members countries of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution, while five others including China and Russia did not participated in poll.
The Security Council has vowed to take all necessary measures to protect Libyans. Anti-Gaddafi forces would be supported, the resolution approved.
It is pertinent to mention here that Arabian League had already support the purposed sanctions over Libya.
Following the decision of the UN people in Benghazi and other areas have stated celebrating the resolution with flying colors. Aerial firing have been restored after the resolution in Benghazi.
Soon after the resolution, Italy allowed world forces to use its air bases to carry out air strikes on Libya.
