Karachi: Pakistan Navy organised joint naval exercises in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday in which many countries including China, France and Australia participated.
Pakistan Navy believes that threat of piracy near the Arabian Sea will increase with rising transportation of oil in the area. The exercises were aimed at preparing for such threats in the future. The exercises will also help check smuggling.
This is the third time that China participated in joint exercises organised by Pakistan Navy. It also participated in 2007 and 2009.
