Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on friday sacked nine contractual officers including Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Inspector General Sindh Salahuddin Babar Khattal, in light of Supreme Court orders.
Sources said that contracts of nine bureaucrats have been cancelled in the first phase, adding that some other top bureaucrats would also be removed.
A notification has been issued by the Establishment Division in this regard.
The officers who lost their posts include, DG FIA Wasim Ahmed, IG Sindh Salahuddin Babar Khatak, Deputy Director IB Amir Shahzad, DIG Maj (r) Khurram Gulzar, DIG Nadir Hussain Khoso, DDIB Asghar Mehmood, DIG Larkana Din Mohammad Baloch and DIG Gilgit Farman Ali.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday had directed counsel for federation to convey result of his communications with the prime minister before February 18 over the fate of fifteen officers who were re-employed on contract after attaining age of superannuation.
