Islamabad: Additional Secretary Defence Rear Admiral Shah Sohail Masood told The National Assembly Standing Committee on Commerce that 87 percent of Nato and International Security Assistance Forces(Isaf) containers were being imported illegally in Pakistan.
The NA body met here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan to contemplate the issue of Nato containers.
The committee questioned under which law the Nato containers were being imported in the country.
The NA body was informed that seven to eight thousand containers were being imported monthly meant for Nato forces based in Afghanistan.
The committee summoned Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar to brief it regarding Nato container issue.
