Washington: The US Statement Department on Tuesday once again urged the Pakistan government to immediately release its citizen Raymond Davis, who killed two Pakistanis in Lahore last month.
The US said that Davis was a diplomat and it would produce documents regarding his diplomatic immunity in the court on Thursday.
The Statement Department said that the US respected international laws and it hopes that all the countries, including Pakistan would do so, adding that it would continue pressurising Pakistan for the release of Davis.
It further noted that a local court could not proceed cases regarding diplomatic immunity, adding that Pakistan should release Davis complying with the international laws.
