Cairo: Egypt’s Vice President Omar Suleiman on Thursday invited Muslim Brotherhood, an opposition party in Egypt, to meet the government in the country. He said departure of Egyptian president has become essential.
He said this while giving an interview to an Arab TV. He said Gamal, son of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, would not succeed him in upcoming election.
The VP said constitutional reforms are vital before election and reforms would be brought within 200 days. He said youth demand to dissolve the parliament is legitimate and it is the responsibility of state to meet all these demands.
Suleiman said there are different political parties and each of them has their respective agendas. He appealed to the youth to give state time to carry out reforms in the country.
He blamed infiltrators for attacking the protesters. He said a few elements wanted to create fear among masses but military is protecting the people.
He said tourism industry, a major economic hub of the country, has lost US$ one billion during the recent turmoil.
