Islamabad: Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday inaugurated the first Computerized Weapon Licensing Center and said it will help in extermination of terrorism. He said combined NADRA and Passport Offices would also be established.
He said government is taking serious steps to abolish the trend of bearing illegal weapons and establishment of Computerized Weapon Licensing Center is one of the measures.
He said 10-years-old weapons licenses will be computerized as the previous registration system is outdated whereas lapses could be avoided in new licensing system. Computerized visa issuance centers and DNA laboratories would also be setup, he added.
