Islamabad: The Supreme Court on Tuesday took up a petition challenging the appointment of Justice (retd) Deedar Hussain Shah as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.A three-member bench consisting of Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Muhammad Sair Ali and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the petition.
The petitioner contended that the Chief Justice and the opposition leader had not been consulted before the appointment of NAB chairman.
He argued that the court verdicts were creating an impression that judiciary was prejudiced.
Justice Javed Iqbal remarked that those who unlike court decisions believed that judiciary is biased.
He observed that the court verdicts were independents and impartial.
