Islamabad: Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman on Thursday said that policemen along with personnel of Armed Forces are fighting against terrorists and the menace of terrorism will be stamped out through their joint efforts. He expressed these views here at the passing out parade ceremony of 14th lower course at police line headquarters. A total of 283 Constables including 21 lady constables passed out this four-month long course.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani, DIG Headquarters Kamal uddin Tipu, senior police officials, foreign diplomats and family members of the passing out candidates also attended the ceremony. On the arrival of Chief of Air Staff, a smartly turned out contingent of passing candidates presented guard of honor to him.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief of Air Staff said that Police officials have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and ensured protection to the lives and property of the citizens in difficult situation. “ These sacrifices will be remembered forever and menace of terrorism will be rooted out,” he maintained.
Rao Qamar Suleman said that policemen and personnel of Armed Forces are fighting shoulder by shoulder against the menace of terrorism and the whole nation is proud of sacrifices which they rendered in the line of duty.
Chief of Air Staff congratulated the passing out candidates and appreciated the standard of parade by saying that instructors have worked hard to ensure quality training.
IGP Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani stressed to keep the force abreast of the latest technologies and techniques that offer practical and more responsive solution to security-related issues.
He congratulated all the graduating officers for bearing the rigours of a demanding physical as well as mental training and finally achieving this distinguished milestone.
Later, the Chief Guest Chief of Air Staff awarded trophies and commendation certificates to Constable Zubair Shah for securing first position in fire, Constable Ikram Abbassi for being declared best in parade, Arshad Mehmud for Best in Academies, Constable Nasir Nawaz for All round second position and to Muhammad Ishaq for All-round first position.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman also visited the monuments of martyrs established at police line headquarters and laid floral wreath there. He paid tributes to the martyrs of personnel of law enforcement agencies including Islamabad Police force who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
