Islamabad: Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Tuesday allowed importing 250,000 tons urea.
ECC met here under the finance minister Abdul Hafiz Sheikh.
The committee deferred the matters related to import of 5 years old vehicles and new drug policy and made headway with reference to import of liquid natural gas.
During the meeting the special committee was directed to file report till Wednesday evening on supply of gas to fertilizer factories. Special committee would hold talks with fertilizer manufacturing companies and present its report.
The meeting was told that the exports would soar to 20 billion dollars and remittances would reach the record level of 10 billion dollars.
The meeting stressed that supply of gas to fertilizers manufacturing factories and import of urea from Saudi Arabia till February 15 under program be ensured.
